BADAGRY LOCAL GOVERNMENT HOLDS BUDGET RETREAT FOR THE 2023 FISCAL YEAR

 The Executive Council of Badagry Local Government held a Two-day Budget Retreat on its 2023 budget estimates, fiscal plans and policies. 


The Budget was tagged 'Budget Of Hope 2023' had participants led by the Council Chairman, the supervisor's / special Adviser, Management Staff, Heads Of Departments/Units.



 They all deliberated on the council's fiscal plans and policies for year 2023.


The HOD Budget Mr. David Ominu during his speech, said the plan is to conscientiously prune our resources and we all listened to the Chairman's reiteration  that this time, we must all  do everything to implement all the planned projects and programmes captured in the 2023 budget. At the end of this, we brainstormed, proffered solutions and make informed suggestions and contributions on how to move the council and Badagry Local Government forward.


During the presentation of the Executive Chairman of Badagry LGA  Hon. Onilude Olusegun Adeniran, he  expressly stated that he is poised to use his tenure as the chairman to make ineffaceable mark via legacy projects spread across all wards of the local government. 




"As a local government, we have resolved to judiciously expend resources where our mouth is, we have meticulously deliberated on how to move our council and our local government forward. The   responsibility is on us not to allow our sacrifice to be in vain by not walking our talk as soon as our proposal is passed into law. This administration is focused on Infrastructural development, Education, social interventions, welfare and empowerment of women and aged, Health, Youth and Capacity Development and we will not deviate from these.“


The Executive Chairman reiterated that his administration will leave no stone unturned in providing quality and beneficial projects and policies to the people of badagry. He also stated that his administration will be prudent with the resources at their disposal and as a principal he will not bequeath any debt to successive administration regardless of the projects he embarked on. 


The Council Manager, Mr. Philip Sejuro Asokere in his remarks charged all participants to work towards achieving the goals, plans and proposals in the budget. He said it is important that the council meets its revenue expectations as well as other fiscal plans for the year.

Director of Budget, Ifelodun LCDA, Lagos, who enlightened participants at the retreat on the 'Import Of The New Budget Template.

THE GOVERNOR OF LAGOS STATE HIS EXCELLENCY BABAJIDE OLUSOLA SANWOOLU PRESENTED A FINAL BUDGET FOR THE YEAR 2023 BEFORE THE STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY MEMBERS.







 During the early hours of today, The Governor of Lagos state His Excellency Babajide Olusola sanwoolu presented the Year 2023 Appropriation Bill, which will be the final budget of  his administration before the 2023 general elections, he expressed an unwavering determination to keep serving the people of Lagos through his development agenda, while we uphold the trust and faith reposed in us by the people since 2019  






 The proposed 2023 expenditure, N1.343 trillion would accrue from Internally Generated Revenues (IGRs) and federal transfers, while deficit financing of N350 billion would be sourced from external and domestic loans, and bonds projected to be within the State’s fiscal sustainability parameters.

 

The state would be earmarking an aggregate of N67.4 billion, representing 3.98 per cent of the 2023 budget, to achieve the Government’s social housing programme and provide amenities across communities.


We would be setting aside N339 billion capital (20.06%) to provide infrastructure in various sectors next year, while dedicating an aggregate of N191 billion, representing 11.29%, to health and environment.

Said by the Governor of Lagos state.






COMMISSIONING OF THE ALAUSA FIRE AND RESCUE HEADQUARTERS AND EBUTE ELEFUN FIRE AND RESCUE HEADQUARTERS


During the early hours of today, the special Adviser on special duties and intergovernmental relations Mr Mobolaji Ogunlende hosted the Commissioning of The Alausa Fire and Rescue Headquarters and Ebute Elefun Fire and Rescue headquarters which was physically commissioned by Mr Governor, while that of Oniru and Ajeromi lfelodun was virtually commissioned by Mr Governor with representaives in attendance. 




In attendance was the Deputy Governor of Lagos state Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, Honourable members of the state House of Assembly, members of the state Executive Council, Body of Permanent Secretaries,Traditional white cap chiefs and Fire Chief, Tiffan D Green, Asst. Fire Chief Ernest S Lindqvist and Asst. Fire Chief Femi Balogun all the way from Prince George’s County Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department, Maryland, United States.

SYMPOSIUM ORGANISED BY THE MINISTRY OF SPECIAL DUTIES AND INTERGOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS LAGOS THEMED "EMERGENCY SYSTEMS AND THE ECONOMY; IMPACT AND OPPORTUNITIES."

The theme of the Symposium is "Emergency Systems and the Economy; Impact and Opportunities."

LASBCA PULLS DOWN STRUCTURES UNDER POWERLINE

... LASBCA Evacuates Occupants of Critically-Distressed Building


... Seals Over Seven More Illegal Buildings


The Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) has pulled down an ongoing illegal construction built under a powerline along Church Street, off AIT Road, Alagbado, Lagos.


This was disclosed by the General Manager of the Agency, Arc Gbolahan Oki during the Agency team's routine monitoring and enforcement exercise carried out at Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos.


Oki, who was represented by the Director of Enforcement and Compliance Unit, Olusoji Olaopa during the monitoring exercise, stated the owner/developer did not only build under the powerline but that the entire structure is in violation of the building codes of the State.


According to him: “Some of the other violations include inadequate setbacks, airspace, built on the fence wall as well as being too close to a transformer, an action which poses a threat to the occupants and other residents in the area”.


The General Manager maintained that before the demolition of the structure was carried out, the owner was duly served all Statutory Notices ranging from Contravention, Stop Work Order and Demolition Notices by the Agency in line with the Lagos State Building Codes.


In a similar development, a critically distressed three-floor structure located at 9, Yusuf Bishi Street, Egbe-Idimu, Alimosho, whose owner had been duly served quit/evacuation notice after the building failed the Non-Destructive Test (NDT) was sealed by the Agency and occupants evacuated while plans have been put in place to remove the building.


Over seven other illegal and non-conforming buildings were also sealed due to various contraventions ranging from, building without approval, no letter of authorisation to commence construction from LASBCA and breaking of government seals amongst others.

Eko Walk for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos state Held by the Youths in the State

 


During the early hours of yesterday youths identified as supporters of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Saturday, held a rally at some major parts of Lagos State.


The supporters in their large numbers wore different colours of vests carrying the Emblem of APC and the picture of Tinubu.
