THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF BADAGRY WEST LCDA HON. HENUGBE GBENU JOSEPH COMMISSIONS HEALTHCARE CENTRE AT APA COMMUNITY, ELECTRIFY AGBOJEGHO COMMUNITY AND PRESENTED OFFICIAL VEHICLES TO THE LEGISLATORS OF THE LCDA.

 The Executive Chairman, Badagry West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos Hon. Henugbe Gbenu Joseph on Wednesday commissioned ultramodern Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) in Apa Town, Badagry alongside electrification of Agbojetho and presentation of official vehicles to honourable councilors in the five wards.



During the Inauguration of the centre, Hon. Henugbe Gbenu said his administration would concentrate on construction of health centres to different communities after building structures in most primary schools in the area.


"When I assumed office, i started building structures in Schools, we have about 98 communities in Badagry-West and eight (8) primary Schools and I have built structures in almost all the schools.


"Today, the Primary Healthcare Centre has been equipped with modern day equipment to ensure delivery of services to our dear people.


"We started the construction early this year and to the glory of God we are here today to inaugurate it," he said.


Hon. Henugbe Gbenu commended HRM Oba Oyekan Adekanmi Ilufemiloye, the Alapa of Apa kingdom for the construction of staff quarters to enable doctors and nurses working in the centre to sleep.



He urged the residents of Apa kingdom, the staff of the centre and the residents of Badagry-West to maintain the structure.


Dr. Dorcas Oladunjoye, the Medical Officer of Health, Badagry-West LCDA said the new centre would enlarge health care delivery in Apa and its environs.



Dr. Oladunjoye said that the new structure would result in improved and universal healthcare coverage of the entire council.


She urged the residents of the council to patronize the centre, adding that adequate healthcare would be provided by the staff of the centre.


HRM Oba Sejiro Olalekan James, the Aholu of Kweme kingdom said the chairman concentrated more in construction of  schools and health centre because he really had the interest of his people in mind.


HRM Oba sejiro Olalekan James also commended Gbenu for making education and health his priorities.


Also, the HRM Alapa of Apa kingdom, Oba Adekanmi Oyekan, said Gbenu was the man of the people because he was a listening chairman.


HRM Oba Adekanmi Oyekan said he built the staff quarters because he pitied staff that used to lodge in hotel whenever they are been transferred  to the clinic from a far distance.


According to the monarch, the quarters will serve as the first place of rest before they secure good accommodation for themselves.


The Monarch also seize the occasion to present an award of excellence to the Council Boss, Hon Gbenu in recognition of his selfless service, and development towards the Council with the  presentation of a plaque to him.




  The Executive chairman, Hon. Henugbe Gbenu also inaugurated Agbojetho Community Electrification project.





Hon. Henugbe Gbenu said that the community had been on outage since 1998 when power supply was given to some part of the council.


He said his predecessor provided the 300 KVA transformer while he provided wires and pole in order to invigorate the transformer..






The Executive chairman also seize the occasion to present Toyota Highlander Jeeps to the elected Councillors of the LCDA in order to ease their movement for oversight duties.





Mr Matthew Ìdòwú Sejoro, the Leader, Legislative arm of Badagry-West LCDA said the vehicle would help in quickening their work as legislators.


It was gathered that APC chieftains from the council, market men and women, council worker, traditional chiefs and health workers graced the inauguration.
